China Benefits from Big Pharma's Fear of HomeopathyNobel Prize winner Luc Montagnier moves his lab to ShanghaiIn a previous issue of the Impossible Cure Newsletter, I described the work of French virologist Luc Montagnier, who won the Nobel Prize in 2008 for his discovery of HIV, and who has now discovered that homeopathically-prepared (i.e. diluted and succussed) ultra-dilutions are not mere water. A December 24 interview of Montagnier in SCIENCE is most edifying. "Montagnier, who is also founder and president of the World Foundation for AIDS Research and Prevention, makes the following strong statement for homeopathy and homeopathic doses: 'I can't say that homeopathy is right in everything. What I can say now is that the high dilutions are right. High dilutions of something are not nothing. They are water structures which mimic the original molecules.'" It seems, however, that the conventional medical world will only take Montagnier's work seriously if it yields big profits for Big Pharma. Many of you have read my article in a December 2009 issue of the Mercola Newsletter, about the real reason for Big Pharma's covert funding of anti-homeopathy propaganda: their fear that the truth will come out -- that even allopathic drugs can be potentized (diluted and succussed) to yield billions of doses of essentially free medicine. Montagnier's recent work on ultradilutions of bacteria has gotten too close for comfort -- and he suddenly cannot find support for his research in Europe. "In the interview Montagnier says that he cannot pursue this research in France because he does not have much funding there. Because of French retirement laws, he is no longer allowed to work at a public institute. But there is another reason as well. When he applied for funding from other sources, he was turned down. Montagnier argued that there is a kind of fear around this topic in Europe." In contrast to his predecessor, the late Jacques Benveniste, who experienced this same problem for his work on ultra-dilutions in the 80s and 90s, Montagnier is wiser -- he knows not to fight a losing battle! So he's decided to take his gifts elsewhere. The Chinese apparently are not afraid of the truth -- and, no doubt, the possible profits that will ensue for them if they win a fundamental battle with Western Big Pharma. So they have invited Montagnier to open a new research institute at Jiaotong University in Shanghai. "Montagnier is not worried that his colleagues will think he has drifted into pseudoscience. He replied adamantly: 'No, because it's not pseudoscience. It's not quackery. These are real phenomena which deserve further study.'" Bravo Dr. Montagnier! We are confident that you will have the last laugh -- as all of us do, who benefit from the amazing power of homeopathy! Link to Dana Ullman's Huffington Post article on this topic. |

Anti-homeopathy forces begin their shenanigans in North America...Will we yield, or fight for our health freedom? The US might not sanction homeopathy and other forms of alternative medicine with government coverage and recognition, but Ontario, Canada recently has, with their recent governmental registration of homeopaths. A possible consequence: the forces (with known links to Big Pharma) that have successfully weakened homeopathy in the U.K. are now beginning to employ their nefarious tactics in North America. A recent "presentation" of homeopathy on Ontario CBC television -- Cure of Con? -- was full of falsehoods and misinformation about homeopathy. This is exactly the kind of media stunt that the forces in the U.K. used. Happily, many people responded to the calls for support of homeopathy and most of the responses online have been supportive of homeopathy! Another typical tactic of the Big-Pharma funded "quackbuster" campaigns is to stage silly "tests" of homeopathy -- meant solely for media hype -- where a group of people take a large quantity of a remedy to prove that it does nothing. On February 5-6, this kind of stunt will be performed in Atlanta and elsewhere around the world. The quackbuster organization organizing it is: 1023.org.uk. (I'm intentionally not supplying a link, because I don't want to boost their search rank!) If you live in Atlanta, you might want to write to your local press in support of homeopathy. Of course, these people's ignorance of homeopathy is laughable! Any homeopath knows that taking 100 pills at once is, for most people, not that much different than taking a single pill. ( Homeopathy is about energy, not material substance.) If, however, these people took one pill every a day for 100 days -- especially of a high potency -- they would probably start to "prove" and feel the effects of the remedy within a week. I wish they would! Let's have these people take a 200c dose of Ipecac every day for 100 days and see what comes pouring out of them! |

Let's end with some good news...The Swiss government, which removed CAM modalities (like homeopathy) from governmental coverage in 2005, has decided to reinstate them in 2012 a trial basis. "The reversal in policy follows a nationwide vote in 2009 in which two-thirds of Swiss backed expanding the Swiss Federal constitution by an article stipulating that the Federal government and cantons shall ensure that, within the scope of their jurisdiction, complementary medicine is taken into consideration. As far as the cost-effectiveness of these therapies are concerned, data published in an article in the Swiss Medical Journal show that even though consultations with doctors who have an additional qualification in homeopathy or other complementary therapies are significantly longer than those in conventional medicine - and leading to a higher patient satisfaction - the total costs per patient per year are not higher and the costs per doctor per year are even 29% lower than in conventional medicine." Hey, homeopathy works! |
